After a year’s delay and an extended countdown, the 43rd Ryder Cup Matches will be held September 24-26, 2021, at Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wisconsin.
There will be full-spectator attendance at the tournament! Certain procedures will be implemented for safety. For example, this will be a cashless event, requiring the use of credit/debit cards only.
Team Europe is the reigning cup holder. The European team has dominated the last quarter-century of this competition, going 9-3 in the last 12 contests.
Among those in the mix for an automatic berth or captain’s selection are a bevy of potential first-time participants. They include Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Daniel Berger, Scottie Scheffler, Sam Burns and Will Zalatoris, Max Homa, Billy Horschel and Jason Kokrak. U.S. qualifying ends Aug. 29th.
There are plenty of potential rookies who are in the mix for Europe. Possible debutants include Thomas Detry, Viktor Hovland, Shane Lowry, Robert MacIntyre, Guido Migliozzi, Victor Perez, Matthias Schwab, Matt Wallace and Bernd Wiesberger to name but a few. Europe’s qualifying ends Sept. 12th.
