This opulent, all-suite hotel feels like an Asian museum: serene and beautiful, with heavy granite furniture, warm candlelight, and the soft bubble of seemingly endless ponds. It’s hard not to feel a wave of relaxation wash over you as you walk through The Setai’s two-story, zen-inspired lobby, which uses elements like black granite floors and French limestone to create an environment that is at once quite sleek and modern, but somehow also timeless. The energy of the hotel is sophisticated elegance.
Situated one block south of Collins Park, The Setai is in the northern stretches of South Beach, which is a more subdued and sophisticated side of the buzzing area. The oceanfront hotel is within a short walk to Lincoln Road, dining, nightlife and all of South Beach’s main attractions.
The room aesthetic inspiration comes from Asia (they call it Asian Style Deco). The cleverly designed space mixes lots of dark woods and upholstery with beautiful Asian-inspired artifacts and artwork. The Swedish DUXIANA hand-made bed is state-of-the-art sleep that is scientifically designed to elicit the deepest sleep possible.
The Setai Miami’s Art Deco building contains 85 studio suites. Suites are divided between the hotel’s art deco building and its residential tower. The 40-story tower contains 45 one, two and three bedroom suites, ranging from 900 to 3,500 square feet, each with floor-to-ceiling windows, full kitchens, Jacuzzi bathtubs and balconies offering panoramic views across the ocean or of downtown Miami in all its glory.
The crown jewels are the Ocean Suites at The Setai, Miami Beach, ranging from one-bedroom suites to the 10,000 square-foot, four-bedroom suite, all with special amenities like a private VIP entrance, a dedicated concierge, round-trip private airport transfers, complimentary spa treatment, and access to the house cars.
The service is outstanding and value the guests privacy. The front desk here keeps a constant eye on who’s arriving and what they need, and shrink and grow the staff in an instant to make sure the guests are serviced. This is efficiency at its most impressive.
As you walk through the hotel lobby and outside toward the beach, a lush courtyard and serenity pond remind you that your only job right now is to relax.
Want to do that on the beach? The hotel has its own private stretch of sand where you can chill out on a day bed and grab a bite from The Setai Beach Kitchen, a solar-powered culinary spot.
If you’re itching to be a bit more adventurous, they’ve got Jet Skis for rent. And while the beach is impressive, it almost pales in comparison to the hotel’s trio of infinity pools. The three swimming pools are the hotel’s focal point, each heated to a different temperature, gradually becoming warmer as you get closer to the beach. The poolside assistants are wonderfully attentive, with an array of cooling products replenished unobtrusively throughout the day.
The Setai boasts two restaurants and a magnificent lobby bar. Jaya, the hotel’s signature restaurant, offers upscale dining with dishes influenced by Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, India, China and Japan. It is also available for room service. Jaya boasts nightly performances on the terrace/open patio.
Ocean Grill is a wonderful spot for a sunset glass of champagne. The Lobby Bar offers upscale cocktails made with florals, herbs, and fresh juices.
The Spa at The Setai by THÉMAÉ offers services like a Balinese-style massage, Thai-style foot reflexology, and other treatments to ensure your relaxation and rejuvenation. It continues with the Asian influence in both design and treatments, is intimate, calming and thoroughly relaxing. Each spa suite has ocean and pool views, a private bath and steam room, and can accommodate two people to enjoy treatments at the same time.
The fitness center is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m and is equipped with everything you will need for a great workout. The Setai also offers beach yoga.
