The Ned Hotel opened with a launch heard round the world in 2017. The partnership between two hospitality heavyweights; Soho House group and the Sydell Group, one of the top hotel groups in the US. The building was the former Midland Bank HQ designed in 1924. There are 11 floors and 12 categories across its 252 bedrooms, with all the bells and whistles one could hope for at a luxury London hotel.
References across the property pay tribute to the 1920s, 30s and 40s. The standout feature is the marbled lobby and dining area, which is peppered with 92 original African deep green verdite columns and uses former wood-paneled bank teller cabins as seating in some of the restaurants.
The hotel’s 252 rooms are styled with vintage furnishings, heavy patterned fabrics and stunning details showcasing the 1920s and 30s design. The attention to detail is very apparent in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Heritage and Grand Heritage rooms on fifth floor are the most luxurious featuring marble fireplaces with original architectural details.

The gym is extensive and well equipment for all your cardio and weight training desires. There are three studios for Pilates and yoga, a separate boxing gym, complete with full-size ring, gives guests the chance to hone their Rocky routines. They also have group classes available if you prefer. Three studios with a weekly timetable of classes including yoga, Pilates, HIIT, boxing and more. Personal Trainers are available upon request to help you maintain your workouts while traveling. The Ned’s resident physiotherapist and sports masseuse are available to treat and prevent injuries as well.
The vault-like spa is a veritable oasis away from the bustle of the city above. Nestled in the serene basement, flanked by checkered tiles, stone pillars, and Tiffany-style lights, the long lap pool is a glamorous place to take a dip. The treatment menu is extensive, spanning everything from facials and massages, to mani/pedis and hairdressing and grooming services. There’s also a sauna, steam room, lovely pink-marbled hammam.
To step things up just a bit, the hotel offers extra perks to the Ned’s Club members. These include the heated rooftop pool and restaurant overlooking the London skyline and the underground bar in a former bank vault (complete with original 20-tonne door and 3,800 silver safety deposit boxes.
The Grand Banking Hall which is now the hotel’s magnificent lobby hosts eight restaurants with each space feels separate from one another. Restaurants include Malibu Kitchen, Kaia, an Asia-Pacific restaurant, Millie’s Lounge, a British brasserie, Lutyens Grill, a steakhouse, and Nickel Bar serving classic cocktails and snacks. You can also enjoy The Parlour, a jazz and cabaret bar with rotating live music accompanied by lots of cocktails.
The hotel is in the Financial District, an area of the City known for its skyscrapers and business people which makes it busy during the week and quieter on the weekends.
