Entering the Notting Hill area of London, you will find quiet streets, lined by a row of Regency-style houses. Evoking the same sense of luxury and elegance of Victorian society, five of these impressive townhouses have today provided the starting point for The Laslett Hotel.
The ground floor of the hotel is open to the general public encouraging residents and guests to experience the work of local artists and culture.
Named after Rhaune Laslett, founder of the Notting Hill Carnival, and set across five interconnecting Victorian townhouses, The Laslett has 51 boutique rooms. Situated on Pembridge Gardens, the property has an elegant atmosphere and a charming terrace for al fresco drinks throughout summer. You can also enjoy the cozy library and lounge which feels more like a stylish private home than a hotel lobby. Off the lobby there is also a bar and small restaurant.
Although this is a 4-star hotel, it evokes a sense of luxury in the service provided by the staff and the feeling of home. The hotel does not have a gym. It offers exercise programs to suit all abilities including dynamic EMS boxing, ancient Iyengar yoga and classical Pilates through a local gym a short walk from the hotel. The spa room, Recharge Rooms, specializes in high-tech wellness treatments such as ozone therapy and MesoJet technology. The goal is to soothe and detoxify the body, prevent ageing, and promote rejuvenation on a cellular level. Appointments can be made in advance and service is provided one individual at a time in Room 6 at the hotel.
There’s no formal dining room; the Henderson Bar moonlights as a breakfast room, café and cocktail bar throughout the day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests also have an option to dine in the library, lounge or their room.
Children are welcome, as are dogs. Each floor is bookended with large interconnecting rooms, and there’s a dedicated kids’ menu.
You will enjoy this location as it is within walking distance to Portobello Market and an eclectic array of bars, restaurants and shops. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are also a short walk away.
