The 282-room, including 150 suites, Plaza has an iconic location. The rooms embrace the gilded, extravagant style of Louis XIV. One of the iconic suites at the Plaza is the Eloise Suite. Eloise, the character from Kay Thompson’s books, who lived at the hotel is the mascot for kids at the Plaza. The Suite is a pink-and-black themed space that is flamboyant, has costumes for the kids, fun surprises and done in lots of Eloise decorations. A second popular suite is the Fitzgerald Suite with a Great Gatsby theme and wonderful décor and novelty items.
The hotel is family friendly with options for connecting rooms, privatizing parts of floors or having an entire floor to yourself if you desire. Babysitters can be arranged through the concierge for an additional charge. Cribs can also be requested for rooms if traveling with babies.
There are several options for dining beginning with the Champagne Bar which serves breakfast, Champagne, caviar, and pastries. The Rose Club, opens in the early afternoon and hosts live jazz weekly. The Palm Court is a gorgeous space with indoor palms, a stained-glass dome, and a menu for breakfast, brunch, and afternoon tea. There is also a 24-hour room-service menu with a strong French influence and some Eloise-themed items.
A modern gym is open 24/7 and stocked with a variety of cardio and strength-training machines, yoga mats, and free weights. Hairstyling needs are handled by the Warren-Tricomi Salon. A variety of shops at the Plaza include high-end jewelry, clothing, specialty foods, and health and beauty. The Guerlain Spa is open daily 10 am – 6 pm and offers a variety of services.
The hotel is pet friendly, accepting small pets and service dogs. A $250 charge is added to the room rate and owners must sign a waiver accepting financial responsibility for any damage incurred by their pets. Amenities for your pets can be provided that include beds, treats and water bowls.
