For a livelier atmosphere, head to Café Carlyle, where classic cabaret dinner performances are occurring nightly. Café Carlyle is closed annually for the months of July and August. Bemelmans Bar decorated by and named after Ludwig Bemelman, author of the beloved Madeline children’s-book series, is a New York institution. There is nightly piano music 5:30 – 8:30 pm with a jazz trio beginning at 9 pm.
