The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is back!

November 15, 2021 Lifestyle

Macy’s announced that public viewing would return this year for the annual parade, which will once again wind its way through the streets of New York City on Nov. 25.

This is a world-renowned celebration that ushers in the magic of being in New York City during the holiday season. The spectator participation in the parade was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and replaced by a one-hour made-for-television special, filmed in front of the Macy’s store on 34th Street.

Resuming its 2 ½-mile route through the city, the parade will once again delight New York City spectators and a national television audience with its signature mix of giant character helium balloons, fantastic floats, marching bands, performance groups, celebrities, clowns, and the one-and-only Santa Claus.

I have had the privilege of working on this storied event and it was a once-in-a-lifetime joyful experience. If you plan to watch the parade in person, stake your spot early!

The famed holiday parade started in 1924 and has been televised nationally on NBC since 1953. The 95th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air on NBC on Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in all time zones.
